How to Become Spiritually Educated

George Leroy Dale

THE word educate comes from the Latin word educare which means "to bring forth," and relates to attaining knowledge. Knowledge as acquired through ordinary schooling is something pressed into the mind from without, accepted, and memorized. One who has accumulated a great deal of knowledge is often called an "intellectual."

Ordinary education is the transference of instruction from one mind to another. Spiritual education is the fusing of man's mentality and his God-created Spirit, which knows all and has all power to release ideas of life, love, truth, substance, protection, energy, and vitality upon the mental request of man.

Jesus' teachings are clear in regard to demonstration: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." The asking, seeking, knocking is the action of mental man (often called the conscious mind) to make his request known to his higher self, the God within, which being the offspring of universal or God-Mind (the Father) can respond or send the power (ideas), so demonstration will take place.

Let us always remember: There is only one power, but we use it in multitudinous ways. The one power of God that we think with, we also use in breathing, seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, tasting, digesting food, rebuilding body cells, eliminating impurities, moving our bodies around. The one power is everywhere, always awaiting our use of it in all ways.

This great truth, when discovered by Truth seekers, clears up much mental-confusion. Personal responsibility for what each individual thinks, says, and does must be assumed by the individual. "Ignorance of the law is no excuse."

H. Emilie Cady, in her book Lessons in Truth, reveals the method of prayer she used in letting the Spirit educate her mentally. Anyone who is willing to pray can achieve like results. It is not difficult; it is easy.

Use the following statements:

Thine almighty intelligence in me, Spirit, is revealing to me what to think, say, and do every day, thereby spiritualizing my intellect.

The all-knowing, all-understanding, all-informing Mind of God reveals to me why, how, and when I should act in every situation.

Thy divine love is harmonizing me with the good in things, people, and conditions every day. Thine ever-present substance is abundantly supplying all my financial and physical needs every day.

Thy life, joy, harmony, peace, and health find full and perfect expression through me every day. Thou doth reveal the divine design of my life to me and I manifest it part by part every day.
