Patara, pat'-a-rå (Gk.)--trodden down; trampled under foot; desecration; contempt; insult; outrage.

A seaport city in Asia Minor (Acts 21:1).

Meta. A group of thoughts in the sense consciousness of man that are the result of suppression. These thoughts are of a browbeaten, subdued nature, and work toward bondage (trodden down, trampled under foot).
