God gave you me for a little while
   Like a gentle breeze.
   Like a friendly smile.
God in all His goodness knows
   The path we should follow.
   And our way He shows.
Our separate paths He made to cross;
   Time is eternity.
   Nothing is lost.

I'll long remember, I won't forget.
   A love I shared,
   A love I let.
Out of the past it came to me;
   A love that I loved
   Yet would be free.
Warmly, I hold it in my heart
   A memory in consciousness
   We are not apart.
