Metaphysical meaning of heifer (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of heifer (mbd)
heifer (Gen. 15:9).

Meta. The heifer, she-goat, ram, turtledove, and young pigeon that Abram was instructed to take represent ideas on the sense plane that must be sacrificed. The idea of physical strength must be given up, and its spiritual source must be realized. The human will must be given up, that the divine will may work in one. All subconscious resistance to the working of the divine law must be denied away. One should let confidence and peace pervade the mind, yet know that swiftness (pigeon) is characteristic of all action in things spiritual. One should look for a swift fulfillment of all that one has had faith in. In all this process one is to drive away the "birds of prey" or carnal thoughts, as did Abram.
