I want to see a robust, deep, and rich Unity that truly unlocks the Bible

Greetings – I was raised Southern Baptist [and] I am still Christian. This is what made Unity attractive to me—I saw it as Christian, but open to the wisdom of other traditions and without condemning those on other paths to an eternity in a burning hell. However, the more I look into Unity, the more it seems to me that Unity is moving away from Christianity [and] its Christian roots/identity ... I can see myself being part of Unity, but I want the Unity that still preaches/teaches from the Bible. I don’t mind quotations from Islamic, Buddhist, or Hindu sources at all, but I don’t want the Bible completely cut out, either. I don’t want to see Unity become a place that simply repeats bland platitudes, I want to see a robust, deep, and rich Unity that truly unlocks the Bible and our potential as human beings by following the path of Jesus Christ. ... What should I do? What is your advice?

The Unity movement is filled with visitors, like you, who are wanting to learn and apply the Fillmore teachings but are having difficulty finding their right church. The Fillmores knew this. That is why their focus was publishing. My advice is to read Lessons in Truth, check the annotations in the Fillmore Study Bible and the Fillmore Wings Study Materials (Foundations, Beliefs, Spirituality), join one of the online study groups (I teach 11:30 on Tuesdays), join the mailing list, order some of our printed materials (the Bible is free), and then ... ATTEND THE CHURCH THAT FEEDS YOU SPIRITUALLY. You will find that the Fillmore teachings focus more on the inner journey than the outward theology. We have many Catholics, Evangelicals, LDS, Christian Science, Jews and non-affiliated people who study Fillmore, pray affirmatively, and, because the Fillmore teachings provide new insights, find healing in their current church. Stay in church, stay in touch, and study Fillmore! – Mark
