Metaphysical meaning of Arvad (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Arvad (mbd)
Arvad, är'-vad (Heb.)--refuge; pirates' den; place of fugitives; plundering rovers; wanderers.

A small island not far from the seaport of Tyre (Ezek. 27: 8) .

Meta. A retreat (refuge) in the mixed, confused, ever changing sense consciousness of man (the sea) for unstable, erring, destructive thoughts (place of fugitives, plundering rovers, wanderers). These thoughts are unreal, though they are warriors and boast great conquering ability. They are of the carnal mind and will fade away with the overthrow of that which Tyre signifies. (See TYRE.)
