Metaphysical meaning of Aridai (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Aridai (mbd)
Aridai, a-rl'-dai (Heb., Pers. origin)--.strong; worthy; deserving.

One of the sons of Haman, "the Jews' enemy" (Esth. 9:9, 10). Haman was an Agagite, or Amalekite.

Meta. The Agagites or Amalekites were descended from Agag, who represents the Adversary in man's consciousness. The Agagites symbolize the animal forces, the appetites and passions. They are warlike, rebellious, and destructive, and are very detrimental to man's spiritual growth. Aridai (strong, worthy, deserving, son of Haman, an Agagite) represents a belief that the unrestrained animal activities in man, his appetites and carnal desires, are necessary to his well being and should be sustained by him; also that they are too deeply rooted in his consciousness to be overcome. This thought must be destroyed and its substance must be given over to strengthening the true thoughts of man.
