Metaphysical meaning of Ophni (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Ophni (mbd)
Ophni, oph'-ni (Heb.) -- panting; aspiring; ardently desiring; pining; hunger; thirst; weariness; famine; folding together; rolling; writhing; pain; soreness.

A city of Benjamin (Josh. 18:24).

Meta. A group of thoughts in man that really aspires to a higher, spiritual consciousness (aspiring, ardently desiring). It has, however, through error, or Canaanitish rule, exerted great personal effort in seeking to attain the fulfillment of its desire. The result is seeming weariness, lack, and inharmony. Great spiritual attainment is accomplished only by complete consecration to Spirit, and not by striving in the intellectual and personal to bring about one's good.
