Metaphysical meaning of Jair (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Jair (mbd)
Jair, ja'-ir (Heb.)--whom He (God) enlightens; He will make light; He will illuminate; instruction; enlightenment; prosperity; happiness; he shall shine.

a Son of Manasseh-he "took all the region of Argob... and called them... Havvoth-jair" (Deut. 3:14). b A Gileadite, who judged Israel for twenty-two years. He had thirty sons, and these sons of his had thirty cities that were called Havvoth-jair- this Jair was no doubt a descendant of the former Jair, and the cities were the same (Judg. 10:3). See Joshua 13:30 and I Kings 4:13. c The father of Mordecai (Esth. 2:5).

Meta. The faculty of understanding (Manasseh) in the individual, receiving spiritual illumination, enlightenment, from God, Spirit. When we recognize Spirit as the source of all true understanding, Argob in us (the hard, stony aspect of our human reasonings) is transformed into Havvoth-jair--groups of rich, high, illumined thoughts. (See ARGOB and HAVVOTH-JAIR.)
