Hathath, ha'-thath (Heb.)--broken; bruised; crushed; weakened; confounded; terrified; fear. In Hathath the true idea of fear is given, in contrast to Harad--excitement, agitation.

Son of Othniel, of the tribe of Judah (I Chron. 4:13).

Meta. The natural result (which result is terror, fear) of believing in God as force, power, strength, apart from love and eternal goodness, mercy, and Truth (Othniel, the father of Hathath, means God is strength, force of God, lion of God).
