Metaphysical meaning of Elizur (mbd)
Elizur, e-h'-zur (Heb.)--God is a rock; God is a refuge, i.e., stable, sure, a bulwark of strength.
Son of Shedeur of the tribe of Reuben (Num. 1:5). He helped to number the Israelites while they were in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land.
Meta. The spiritual insight that discerns God as a rock, a sure, immovable foundation of strength, protection, and Truth, upon which man builds his spiritual consciousness, to eternal life and peace. Reuben is faith in its aspect of discernment, sight; Shedeur, father of Elizur, means shedder of light.)
