Hello, Friends – This email is the fourth of our new once-a-week emails sent on Saturday and written by someone who is facilitating or teaching a class that is listed on the Events page on TruthUnity. Today’s post is from Rev. Sandra Campbell, Executive Director of the Unity Urban Ministerial School and Vice Chair of the Unity World Headquarters board of directors.

Perhaps more important, Sandra leads Soul Food Ministry, a ministry with a long and distinguished heritage, eloquently described in Sandra's message. As you read her post, stop for a moment and reflect on the photos of the three women. They represent a sacred tradition of African-American and Women's ministry that has blessed and continues bless more than we know.

If you do not wish to receive these Saturday emails, scroll down to the bottom of this email and click on "Change your subscriptions to our newsletters." That will open a box where you can change Subscribe/Unsubscribe to the Fillmore Events Newsletter and other newsletters we send out. – Mark

Welcome to Soul Food Ministry!

Rev. Sandra Campbell

Dear Friends,

The term “soul food” evolved from the cuisine by the enslaved Africans in America to a symbol of cultural pride and communal identity. As an expression, “soul food” represents the resilience and creativity of the human spirit.

Rev. Sallye Taylor Soul Food Ministry was originally started by Rev. Sallye Coe Taylor in the mid-1990s as an alternative Unity ministry that focused on helping ministers and students deepen their understanding of the metaphysical context and application of Scripture. The name of the ministry drew from the cultural significance of soul food, which Rev. Sallye recognized as food for the soul in the spiritual sense.

Rev. Gloria Holt She and Rev. Gloria Holt, co-leaders of Soul Food Ministry, managed its writings, teachings, and publications. After Rev. Sallye’s passing in March 2015, Rev. Gloria Holt and I collaborated on the idea of reviving Soul Food Ministry—A Path With Heart.

In partnership with Unity Urban Ministerial School, I offer a menu of food for the soul through her Metaphysical Bible Interpretation Class on Sunday mornings, Soul Food Sunday services, and the Mid-Week Master Mind Gathering on Wednesday evenings. Links to these offerings are on the Events page on TruthUnity. All are accessible on Zoom.

YOU ARE WELCOME to all these classes and meetings. And you can get in touch with me at campbell.unity@gmail.com or through my website: https://sandrainspires.com
