Metaphysical meaning of Mibsam (mbd)
Mibsam, mib'-sam (Heb.)--having good smell; aromatic; fragrant; sweet odor; delightful; pleasant.

a Son of Ishmael (Gen. 25:13). b A son of Shallum, a Simeonite (I Chron. 4:25)

Meta. A perception or sensing of the joys and beauties of Spirit. This is possessed in degree both by a phase of the sense or carnal mind (son of Ishmael) and by a thought in the higher, more awakened and receptive mentality of the individual (a Simeonite). The sense of smell signifies the power to perceive, discriminate, detect, estimate; while the sweetness or fragrance of odor, given as the meaning of this name, suggest the joys of spiritual realities.
