Nancy Peterson

Rev. Nancy Peterson Unity Minister

Ordained on June 1, 2026, Nancy completed the Ministerial and Religious Studies Program through Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute headquartered at Unity Village, MO.

Nancy was raised in Maine and was a long-time resident of Greater Boston. Relocating to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2015, she oversaw her mother’s care for five years and lived the Alzheimer’s “long goodbye” experienced by patients and caregivers. This time was pivotal to her unfolding path to ministry. She interned as a hospital chaplain in Spring of 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, a level 2 trauma center, in Tampa, Florida. Nancy is drawn to the foundational Unity teachings and has experienced healing through her contemplative practice. She seeks to inspire others to cultivate a consciousness of Self, the Christ indwelling.

Having earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Babson College and M.S. in Finance from Bentley University, Nancy’s early career was in financial and operational audit, but she found greater purpose in non-profit health care finance designing costing systems and metrics. She taught undergraduate finance at Bentley and was a partner in a technology start-up at the dawning of the internet.

Nancy has also enjoyed adventure. She was a sailplane pilot and has flown the mountain wave out of Minden, NV reaching an altitude of 25,600 feet over Lake Tahoe. Her plan to become a competition pilot ended when she survived a low altitude spin in 1997. Grateful for a full recovery, she returned to figure skating as an adult, competing for 8 seasons in synchronized team skating and earning three national titles with her masters team. She retired in 2015.
