Rehum, re'-hum (Heb.)--soothing; glowing with an inward warmth; compassionate; having pity; loving; tender; affectionate.

a One who returned from the captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:2); in Nehemiah 7:7, he is called Nehum. b Other men by this name are mentioned in Nehemiah 3:17, 10:25, and 12:3.

Meta. Rehum suggests the tender, brooding, mother love of God, which soothes the whole being of man and through which new understanding and realization of Truth are germinated in consciousness and grow and increase to perfect expression and demonstration.
