Meta. The realm of reflected light, or the understanding of the five-sense man who judges by appearances and reasons in the bounds of their limitation. The unredeemed intellect, because of its limited concepts, cannot grasp absolute Truth. It forms its conclusions from observation and study of relative conditions; therefore it discerns only relative truths. "The natural man [intellectual man] receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged" (I Cor. 2:14).
