Metaphysical meaning of Ethnan (mbd)
Ethnan, eth'-nan (Heb.)--gift; reward; hire.

Son of Ashhur and Helah, of the tribe of Judah (I Chron. 4:1).

Meta. "The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 6:23).

Each individual, however, will come to the place, in the course of his overcoming, wherein he will perceive that it must be God who works in him both to will and to work for His good pleasure, if an-thing worth while is to be accomplished or attained (see Phil. 2:12, 13). The reward is for faithful continuance in well-doing (see Rom. 2:7).
