Metaphysical meaning of Anath (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Anath (mbd)
Anath, a'-nath (Heb.)--shouting; answering; oppressed; afflicted; humbled.

Father of Shamgar, who was a judge of Israel (Judg. 3:31).

Meta. The Spirit's response to the cry of the soul for deliverance from opposing thoughts. The answer, in the case mentioned in Judges 3:31, came through the son of Anath, Shamgar, "who smote of the Philistines six hundred men" and saved Israel. (The Philistines are typical of lawless, rebellious thoughts.)
