Nanna B Sutton was a Licensed Unity Teacher who served in Harlem from 1914 through the 1950s. She is remembered by several people at the Unity of Harlem church and also from the 1948 Unity Field Department Survey, which can be seen by scrolling down. I believe Nanna Sutton is the earliest African American Licensed Teacher/Minister we have on record. If you have more information about her, please contact me!
