Emilie Cady - Lessons In Truth
Hi Friends -
This edition of Lessons in Truth was published sometime in the 1960s. It was one of the first texts I placed on TruthUnity. Unfortunately, for the reason I explain below, it was the text used in Italian and Dutch translations by Unity and in Arabic and Chinese translations commissioned by TruthUnity.
This edition of Lessons In Truth has several major discrepancies with the original edition and the original lessons as written by Emilie Cady.
The most significant discrepancy is that the essay “Liberty of Bondage, Which?” was the last chapter in the original edition but has been placed as the opening chapter in this edition. Reading Lessons in Truth that way obscures the most significant message of Emilie Cady’s classic text: the shift from metaphysics to mysticism. There are other serious discrepancies, one of which is a complete rewriting of an entire chapter about chemicalization.
I highly recommend anyone who studies Lessons in Truth to follow the original text. That test is available here as the Lessons in Truth Study Edition. Go here for the Study Edition of Lessons in Truth (1895 text).
