Here is the 1948 Field Department Survey for Courtnay Johnson, who became a Licensed Unity Teacher in 1944.

Courtnay Johnson was introduced to Unity in 1934 while walking on 7th Ave in NYC and she saw a sign that said "Come in, rest and pray, Noon Day Silence." That was the Unity Center of Truth at 2523 7th Ave. New York City, NY. She remained serving there at least until this survey was completed in 1948.

She received training in the field from C.C. Ayers, Cleda Reyner, Margaret Norwood, Herbert Hunt, Georgiana Tree West, Francis Gable, L. Ably Rose Emery, Ida M. Palmer, Elsie W. Shaw and "beloved" Charles Fillmore and Cora Fillmore. She attended the Unity Training School in 1941, 1943, 1944, 1945. She got through lesson 8 of Series 2 in the Unity Correspondence Course. Before coming to Unity, she was a Baptist and taught Sunday School.

Courtnay Johnson describes the following account of her healing,

It was in 1934 while walking on 7th Ave. I saw a sign "come in, rest and pray, Noon Day Silence." I was on my way to get ingredients for soup at that time. My husband was called arthritis patient having attacks for over 20 years, but at this time it became severe, causing confinement to bed. I slipped in, sat on the last seat. The talk was on healing. At the close of the meeting, the teacher came to [the] door, and as I passed she said "You are not smiling." I said "my husband is very sick with arthritis." She said "I do not know what it is, but His grace is sufficient for all things."

It was like sunshine thru the rain, I long to be where I could repeat it over and over again. I left him at night to rest, my daughter sat up with him. The next morning he said "I am going to get well." ... [he got] up, improved, [and is] now entirely well.

It started me on to study. I attended Sunday School for 3 years, missing five Sundays in that time. First I was asked to take Monday class, then to be leader. In these years I have been blessed to have other healings. I worked in the hospital as a therapist [helping] a patient with arthritis hands, and another with knot on arm to be healed almost instantly. Myself healed of heart condition. Truly I can say,

His grace is sufficient for all things (II Cor. 12:9).

I have or had prayed to be a Healer, but one day in meditation the thought came to me, it is just as much a blessing to teach the law of prevention, as to heal a condition. Now I give thanks to behold others as they are in Spirit, and know I get the land I see. Nothing but Good. Thank you and "God bless you every one."
