Metaphysical meaning of Manoah (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Manoah (mbd)
Manoah, ma-no'-ah (Heb.)--resting; quieting; restoring; giving; leaving; forsaking.

Father of Samson. He was a man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites (Judg. 13:2-24).

Meta. The significance of Manoah is given in Isaiah 40:31: "They that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint." In the Authorized Version the first clause reads, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength." Manoah--meaning resting, restoring, forsaking, and being the father of Samson, who represents strength--signifies this inner waiting upon the Lord, or resting in the consciousness of our oneness with the Father, Jehovah, within us. By this inner worship something of the limited in thought and belief is put away and a great increase in strength and might is experienced.
