Metaphysical meaning of Ahira (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Ahira (mbd)
Ahira, a-hl'-rå (Heb.)--brother of evil, i. e., unlucky. In a good sense: brother of nourishment; brother shepherd.

Son of Enan, and prince over the tribe of Naphtali while the Israelites were in the wilderness under Moses' jurisdiction (Num. 1:15).

Meta. The central controlling thought, at a certain period of man's unfoldment, of the strength faculty (Naphtali) in consciousness. This very influential thought, in leading the individual to give his strength to material thinking, brings about error conditions such as weakness, disease, and inharmony. Thus it becomes a brother of evil, and the individual believes himself to be unlucky. On the other hand, when the thought that Ahira signifies gives its sustaining strength to spiritual thinking, it becomes a brother shepherd; it becomes akin to the Christ principle of life and good. The Christ is the true shepherd of the sheep (man's life thoughts; see John 10).
