Metaphysical Bible Interpretation of Psalms Chapter 82
Metaphysically Interpreting Psalms 82:1-8
82:2How long will ye judge unjustly,
And respect the persons of the wicked?
82:6I said, Ye are gods,
And all of you sons of the Most High.
September 4, 1949: Psalms 82:1-8
How is divine justice dispensed? Impartially to all.
Neither high nor low are exempt from divine justice, which each one receives according to his deserts.
In what cases is justice most urgently needed? In helping the “poor and fatherless,” “the afflicted and destitute,” “the poor and needy.”
What is meant by “gods” in the verse “Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High”? Men (made in the image and likeness of God) are gods because they are potentially all that God is. But, until they realize and demonstrate their divine sonship, they shall die like men.
Is justice or judgment to be universally established? It is. “Arise, O God, judge the earth; For thou shalt inherit all the nations.”
