Twitter (tweets)

Twitter is a free, Internet based service that displays short text messages (known as tweets) on your website. If you don't know what it is and think it's just a fad, check with the kids in your church ... you may discover that it is one way they want to be communicated to.

If you don't want to add tweets to your website, just go on to the next section. We can add them later.

To enable Twitter, you'll need a Twitter account for your church. When you've set one up, make sure you're logged in to Twitter and then go to Goodies > Widgets > My Website > Profile Widget and then enter the following:

Preferences:

  • Accept the defaults. These should be Load all tweets, display 4 tweets, Show Timestamps, Show hashtags.

Appearance:

  • shell background: #f2f2e6
  • shell text: #5068cf
  • tweet background: #d9eaf2
  • tweet text: #000000
  • links: #074ceb

Click on the colored boxes to open the color editor and click "Done" to close each box.

Dimensions:

  • 190 wide x 300 high

Then click "Finish & Grab Code". You will see a box appear that looks like computer code.
Copy that code and place it on your email to me.
