Picasa is a free, Internet based service from Google that displays your photographs. Another popular service like Picasa is Flickr. If you wish to display a photo on your Unitywings website, you need to upload the pictures on Picasa or Flickr. You can use either one, or another one if you wish. All that is necessary is that the service you use allow you to get the "code" necessary to embed in your website for rendering the photos you want to display.
To get started, I will need photos that you want displayed permanently, such as a photo of your minister, of your church building, sanctuary, and any other pic that shows "who we are." Let's start with a photo of your minister:
- Upload the photo to an album in Picasa.
- Open the photo. See the link on the right column labeled "Link to this photo." Click on it.
- Select the image size. Thumbnail, 144 pixels is good for a portrait.
- Check the box that says "Image only (no link)"
- See the box that says "Embed image." Copy the entire contents and place it in your email to me.
Here's how it looks for one of my pictures:
By the way, that's me with Rev. Gloria Holt, who is just without doubt one of the most awesome people you'll ever meet in Unity.
You may want to have a Slideshow in your "Who We Are" page. Here's how you do that:
- Upload a few photos into a common album.
- Open the album. See the link on the right column labeled "Link to this album." Click on it.
- See the new line that appears labeled "Embed Slideshow." Click on it.
- A popup box appears. Set the size to Large (400 pixels) and make sure Autoplay is checked.
- Copy the code in the box that says "Copy and paste this into your website."
- Place it in your email to me.
Here's how one of my albums looks at 400 pixels:
