Metaphysical meaning of Beth-eden (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Beth-eden (mbd)
Beth-eden, beth-e'-den (Heb.)--house of pleasantness; house of delight; house of pleasure; house of temporal sensibility.

It seems to have been the city of a wicked ruler who was threatened with destruction by Amos (Amos 1:5, margin) .

Meta. Eden means a pleasant, productive state of consciousness, having all possibilities; it represents the consciousness of the divine in natural man. Beth-eden (house of pleasure) symbolizes the house, or established consciousness, of that which is pleasing and harmonious. But if the central, controlling thought of this state of consciousness is one of selfishness and error, the whole peace, bounty, and other possibilities of good that lie in this Eden are greatly hindered in their expression; therefore error must be destroyed from its borders.
