Vera Dawson Tait - Almost Emilie Cady Herself

How would you have liked to have taken Letters In Truth from H. Emilie Cady herself? You now have the next best thing.

Vera Tait taught at Unity Institute 30 years ago. She is known at Unity as "Miss Lessons In Truth." She was the last writer of Unity's Correspondence Course for LIT. Johnnie Coleman remembers that she was the first person she met when she came to Unity Village and that she gave her a warm welcome. I have her notes from the archive, and they're awesome. It is fair to say that no one has ever known Lessons In Truth better than Vera Tait, except for Emilie Cady herself... (click below to read more)

Lessons in Truth Now Streaming

How many of you were once a "cassette tape junkie"? That's a term I recently heard from a wise teacher at Unity School. Many of us, before CD's, listened to audio cassette tapes while driving back and forth to work. They transformed our consciousness, didn't they? And that, over time, transformed our lives, as we well know.

Yesterday I was reminded of this by the Sunday lesson given by another wise teacher at Unity School. As many of you know, there are 10 of us up here at Unity Village for a week of SEE classes. We have made a "Pilgrimage to Unity Village" and we're having lots of fun. The story in the Sunday lesson shared how a conflict with a co-worker got resolved through the mind changing power of listening to an audio cassette of Emilie Cady's Lessons In Truth.

Inspired by her Sunday lesson, I've digitized the original series and made it available. Here is the link: http://www.truthunity.net/teachers/emiliecady/lessonsintruth

The Essence of Unity

There is another wonderful audio recording in the Unity Archives and Library, a series of talks given by Tom Witherspoon called "The Essence of Unity." When I was at the village back in August, Tom Thorpe recommended these talks to me. He said that of all the audio recordings in the library, Tom Witherspoon's Essence of Unity were his favorite... See me beautiful

If you will, pause for a moment and bring to mind someone in your life that hasn't yet got it all together. It may be a coworker who is struggling to hang on to his job or an acquaintance who seems to be the perpetual cause of her own trouble in life. It may be a spouse or child who gets under your skin or a parent who just can't let go of old habits, bitter memories or mistaken beliefs. Just relax your gaze for a moment and bring this person into your heart center.

Having brought this person into your awareness, I ask you to imagine this person sitting directly in front of you, looking into your eyes. Both of you are silent for a moment. Then imagine this person begins to speak to you from the depth of his or her heart. He or she says the following ...

Spiritualism

A few of my Unity students asked me about my thoughts of Dr. Hogan's talk last Wednesday night at Unity Hills. My only comment is the importance of focusing on the here and now, instead of the then and there. I realize we all want to take a peak beyond the veil and have a glimpse of the future. That is understandable. We do well always to remember that in the here and now we have all we need for our transformation into Christ consciousness. The following is how Charles Fillmore answered questions about Spiritualists and Seances back in 1928 ...

Thank you, Tim

I got the call late Saturday night, it was about 10pm ... she said "you need to know that she's not doing so well ... she slept about 16 hours yesterday, she's having a hard time breathing." The words didn't sink in until Sunday morning, at our early service, during meditation. I came to understand that someone I dearly love, who has given her life for me, is suffering and soon may be gone. I began to cry. And I began to cry out for help ...
